The Luxembourg Curling Union has announced the winners of the National Doubles Championships 2022/2023: Marco Etienne and Alex Benoy of Curling Club Lëtzebuerg.
The National Doubles Championships took place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February 2023 and saw the participation of their youngest ever player, twelve-year-old Hanna Beba.
The round robin games (everybody against everybody) finished with the following results: three wins for Candice Richards and Philippe Giltaire; two wins for Marco Etienne and Alex Benoy; one win for Hanna and Volker Beba; no wins for Barry Foulds and Jimmy Strijn.
In the bronze final, Barry Foulds and Jimmy Strijn took third place after defeating Hanna and Volker Beba 3-2.
In the gold Final, Marco Etienne and Alex Benoy won 4-1 against Candice Richards and Philippe Giltaire.
The next tournament in Luxembourg will be the international Bonspiel 46th Coupe de l’Amitié, with twelve teams participating from 3 to 5 March 2023 at the Kockelscheuer Ice Rink.
