On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 February 2024, the National Luxembourg Curling Championship took place on the ice rink at Kockelscheuer in Luxembourg City.
Five teams representing two clubs, Curling Club Hiversport and Red Lions, participated in the competition. The registered teams competed against each other in a round-robin format, following which a final ranking was determined.
The Red Lions won the 2024 championships after winning all four of their games.
“I am very proud of my team. I could not have done it without them. This is a great achievement for our newly-found club and a success we will build on,” team captain (Skip) Marc Hansen said.
The team consisted of Marc Hansen (Skip), Furio Pezzoli (Third), Ian Munn (Second) and Florian Hascoët (Lead).
They won with scores of 8-3 (5 Ends vs 2), 15-6 (5 vs 2), 13-0 (7 vs 0), and 7-3 (3 vs 2, with one End blanked).
The Red Lions affiliated with the Luxembourg Curling Union only in 2023.
