Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has announced that various events will be taking place in the Grand Duchy as part of the European Archaeology Days (Journées Européennes de l’Archéologie - JEA) in June 2025.
From Friday 13 to Sunday 15 June 2025, the European Archaeology Days will offer the public an opportunity to discover archaeology through more than 5,000 events organised in Luxembourg and in 30 countries across Europe.
"The European Archaeology Days offer a fantastic opportunity to highlight the richness of Luxembourg's archaeological heritage," emphasised Luxembourg's Minister for Culture, Eric Thill. "I am particularly delighted that the remarkable work of INRA is being showcased in this way, in collaboration with all those involved in the preservation and transmission of our shared history. These days are an invitation to reconnect with our roots and better understand the foundations of our society."
The European Archaeology Days are led by the National Institute for Archaeological Research (INRA) under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Council of Europe. In partnership with key stakeholders, museums and volunteer associations active in the field of archaeology and heritage in Luxembourg, INRA is organising, for the first time in the Grand Duchy, three days of tours and open days across the country.
