Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has announced the call for projects under "Access to culture" to make cultural events more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

The Ministry noted that while the Luxembourg legislative framework is based on the principle of equality, socioeconomic and educational determinants can nevertheless lead to de facto exclusion, particularly with regard to access to culture.

The "Access to culture" call thus seeks to encourage projects that go against this exclusion, primarily by subsidising projects that aim for the cultural inclusion of all and in addition, by raising awareness through this same bias.

The reasons for cultural exclusion are multiple and complex. Depending on the needs, different themes will be highlighted, and the projects responding to this subject will be prioritised.

The 2022 call for projects "Access to culture" will primarily target the subject "Culture and disability", more specifically:

  • Projects that allow access to culture for artists, musicians or performers with specific needs.
  • Projects that aim to raise awareness and information as well as the sharing of good practices around this same group, often under-represented on the front of the cultural scene.

This call for projects always supports access to culture in a global way:

  • Carrying out cultural projects for the benefit of people who find it difficult to fully exercise their right to culture;
  • Projects that use culture as an intervention tool to act on social issues and against cultural exclusion.
