The Indian Association of Luxembourg (IAL) has announced that it is organising an Independence Day Cricket event on Tuesday 15 August 2023 from 09:00 to 20:00 at the Pierre Werner Cricket Ground in Walferdange.
Replacing what was called the Lagaan Cup, a match played between the IAL and Optimists Cricket Club (OCC) for many years on 15 August, also a public holiday in Luxembourg (Feast of the Assumption), this year's Independence Day event will have a different format.
The IAL Trophy is both a sporting and social event and will involve a number of Luxembourg club teams (both men and women) playing six-a-side games.
Children will have a number of fun events organised in parallel, including a bouncy castle and games.
An Indian Buffet Lunch and Drinks will be served near the pavilion end.
All are welcome. Free entry, no prior registration.
