Bourgmeisterin and Radio ARA have announced the second edition of the event series "Bourgmeisterin: Fireside Chats", taking place on Thursday 23 April 2026 at Neumünster Abbey (neimënster) in Luxembourg-Grund; doors open at 18:30 with the conversation starting at 19:00.

This fireside chat, titled "Dressed in History: Tradition in a Fast-Fashion World", will focus on craftsmanship and artisanship. The conversation asks how traditional techniques and cultural references are reinterpreted in contemporary creative work and what cultural continuity means in a globalised Luxembourg.

Julia Khalyavko, founder of Bourgmeisterin, will host the evening. Her guest is Luxembourg-based entrepreneur Debbie Kirsch, founder of the sustainable fashion brand Devï, whose work centres on upcycled garments made from vintage textiles and collaborations with artisan communities in India, Morocco and Turkey. The event will be held in English and will conclude with networking over drinks.

Bourgmeisterin Fireside Chats is a bi-monthly cultural storytelling series running until summer 2027. Supported by Luxembourg's Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees and co-produced with ARA City Radio, the series explores how traditions, cultural practices and heritage shape contemporary life in Luxembourg. The discussions combine storytelling, moderated dialogue and audience exchange, aiming to make Luxembourg's traditions tangible for a broad international public.

The discussions are recorded and later published on the project website www.bourgmeisterin.com.
