On Saturday 3 October 2015, the Danish Church in Luxembourg will be holding an informative lecture on ground water, drinking water, pesticides and fracking.
The lecture will be given in English by Lærke Thorling and Tom Schaul. Lærke Thorling holds a Master of Science in chemistry and physics and currently works as a geochemist, with the responsibility for monitoring national groundwater, at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) independent research institute. Tom Schaul is a hydraulicist at Luxembourg's Administration de la Gestion de l'Eau.
The two speakers form part of an EU working group which focuses on ground and drinking water. They will be at the conference to offer their own experiences in the EU and their home countries of pesticides in ground water and fracking in Luxembourg and Denmark. Lærke will also provide her experience of the situation in the US, offering explanations for why this may differ from Europe.
Entrance costs €15, and interested parties must sign up before 1 October 2015 at www.dankirke.lu or by contacting dankirke@pt.lu. The conference will take place at 28, Rue Paul Wilwerts, L-2738, Luxembourg-Cents.
