On Sunday 1 March 2026, more than 1,000 people came together at Le Moulin / New Spirit Events in Mondorf-les-Bains for Rangotsav, an open-air celebration of Holi, the Festival of Colours.
Organisers Moien Bharat welcomed a varied mix of families, children, students and guests to celebrate the joy of spring, community spirit and cultural exchange.
The venue’s large outdoor space allowed those in attendance to take advantage of the day’s warm weather and the natural surroundings of the area, enhancing the symbolism of Holi as a spring festival and its celebration of nature.
The family-friendly gathering, attended by Mayor of Differdange, Guy Altmeisch, featured a variety of community activities and musical entertainment from DJ Senny, whose selection of Bollywood and desi music tempted attendees to take advantage of the dancefloor installed by the organisers.
A variety of Indian food was available on site and those present were each provided with a packet of eco-friendly organic Holi colours to partake in the tradition of bringing one’s own colour to the celebrations.
Holi, the Festival of Colours, is one of India’s most cherished celebrations, marking the arrival of spring and symbolising renewal, joy and the triumph of good over evil. Beyond its religious origins, Holi carries a powerful social meaning. It is a day of equality when social barriers dissolve, forgiveness is encouraged and people come together regardless of age, background or status. The act of applying colour reflects acceptance, harmony and shared happiness.
