On Friday 23 January 2026, the Scottish community in Luxembourg will once again host a Burns Supper celebration, this time at the Hotel Parc Belle-Vue in Luxembourg City; the evening starts at 18:30 with dinner at 19:30.
As explained by Margaret Ferns, member of the Luxembourg Burns Supper Organising Committee, this event celebrates the life and legacy of Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns. The organisers noted that guests can expect "great food, stirring speeches, poetry recitations, live music and dancing".
For Scots around the world - and for countless friends of Scotland - Burns Night is "far more" than a dinner. "It is an emotional homecoming. Eyes mist; hearts swell with pride, whisky glasses clink, and haggis everywhere prepare to run (albeit only in circles)," noted the organisers.
They reflected on what it is about Robert Burns that continues to inspire such devotion more than two centuries after his death. Born on 25 January 1759, Burns rose from humble beginnings as a Scottish farmer to become one of the greatest poets who ever lived. Welcomed into the salons of Edinburgh's elite, he never lost touch with the struggles, humour and humanity of ordinary people. Living through turbulent times in Scottish history, Burns captured universal themes of love, freedom, friendship and social justice with warmth, wit and fierce compassion. Though he died young in 1796, Burns left behind a body of work known across the globe.
The Scottish community in Luxembourg has "proudly celebrated" Burns' life and works for more than 40 years, and the Luxembourg Burns Supper 2026 continues this "cherished tradition". The evening promises "a full cultural experience, blending Scottish heritage with convivial international spirit".
There are still a few places for the 2026 Burns Supper available, and sponsorship opportunities are open for individuals and organisations wishing to support this long-standing cultural event and be part of a unique celebration of literature, music and community.
