Supermarket Delhaize today presented a cheque for €1,500 to the non-profit organisation ALUPSE-Bébé, which was raised from sales of Delhaize's Cuvée Bertrange Tavel.

In July 2014, the first Cuvée Bertrange Tavel was put on sale, with the intention of €1 from every bottle sold going to charity. A total of 1,500 bottles were eventually bought and the profits were donated to ALUPSE-Bébé.

The initiative was the result of a first ever collaboration between Delhaize and Bertrange Commune to launch the 'Cuvée Tavel Bertrange', with both parties stating that the partnership aimed to strengthen ties between the two whilst pursuing a project that was philanthropic in nature.

The beneficiary of the funds raised, ALUPSE-Bébé, is an assocation which aims to help child victims of violence and their families. To this end, it offers therapeutic accompaniment and seeks to protect children, prevent violence and neglect and monitor the health and development of the child. The associations is divided into two major branches, with the 'ALUPSE Dialogue' sector specialising in children's services and the promotion of parental-child links; and the 'ALUPSE Bébé' aspect offers personalised home assistance with the intention of strengthening the bond between parents and child and guide families through difficult living situations.
