The British Ladies Club (BLC) has announced it will host its Women’s Startup Pitch Evening on Thursday 4 June 2026, at Hall Victor Hugo in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.

The event will welcome British Ambassador to Luxembourg, Joanne Olivier and will present an opportunity for selected BLS members to present their business ideas and receive assistance and feedback.

Speaking to Chronicle.luthe BLC said the event was created in response to the entrepreneurial journey in Luxembourg, and because the club is an English-speaking community which primarily supports women across social, family and cultural aspects of life, it made sense to extend the club’s mission and create an initiative in relation to entrepreneurship in the country.

The BLC noted that many entrepreneurial journeys begin long before business plans, funding rounds, or pitch decks. They begin with a story, an idea that has not yet found a place to be heard or assessed. Not every idea will become a company but that is not the point. What matters is creating a space where ideas can be heard, assessed, and strengthened before someone decides whether to take the next step.

It added: “For those considering entrepreneurship, the earliest phases are often where hesitation starts setting in. Doubts around risk and economic feasibility begin to form, alongside questions about the personal implications of stepping into entrepreneurship. Practical considerations also come into play, such as company setup, banking arrangements, taxation and other administrative requirements. These doubts often arise before a business idea has had the chance to be properly articulated or structured. In many cases, they can delay or prevent what might otherwise develop into a viable and sustainable business project.”

The BLC highlighted that Luxembourg today offers a sophisticated and well-established startup ecosystem. At the same time, potential founders still working through the fundamentals, or exploring the idea of entrepreneurship, may look for guidance on where to begin.

The BLC described the Women’s Startup Pitch Evening – English Edition as an opportunity for English-speaking women residing in Luxembourg who are at idea, concept or early prototype stage to pitch their idea to a judging panel composed of senior English-speaking female leaders with international experience, bringing a professional and informed perspective to the assessment process.

Participants do not need to be members of the club. By design, the initiative does not restrict topics or sectors. Ideas may relate to goods or services across a wide range of fields. What matters is substance and potential and whether an idea can realistically be developed into something economically and operationally viable.

The BLC noted that a key differentiator of the initiative is the pre-pitch mentoring phase. Participants selected to pitch will receive mentoring ahead of the event, focused on strengthening their pitch, thinking through feasibility and communicating their concept clearly.

Following the opening of the application process last week, the BLC confirmed the initiative had already received very positive feedback and interest from applicants, with a first round of applications already submitted.

The deadline for applications is Monday 16 March 2026 and the selected pitch participants will be informed on Monday 30 March 2026. Those wishing to submit an application are asked to contact the BLC via email: startup@BLC.lu.

The live pitching event will take place on Thursday 4 June 2026, at Hall Victor Hugo in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg, starting at 18:30. The event will be open to the general public upon registration, which will begin in April on a first-come, first-served basis.

The evening will commence with the presentation of an actual startup case study and will be followed by the pitching session and an awards ceremony. Awards will include a startup course, amongst others. The BLC have said further details will be provided in the coming weeks.

The event is supported by the British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg and sponsored by the Luxembourg-Poland Chamber of Commerce.
