On Monday 17 November 2025, SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde reported that it recently received a cheque for €5,661 from the organisers of the “Color Run”.

A few days earlier, on Wednesday 12 November 2025, organisers step by step SA and Baloise Luxembourg presented the donation to SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde following the 2025 edition of the Color Run, which took place in Luxembourg City in September. The aim of this initiative was to support the association’s projects for vulnerable children around the world.

During the handover ceremony, held at Baloise’s premises in Leudelange, the cheque was presented to Sophie Glesener, Director of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, in the presence of the event’s initiators, Erich François, head of step by step SA, Dr Christine Theodorovics, CEO of Baloise Luxembourg, and volunteers who had supported the “Color Stations” during the run.

SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde recalled that it first received support from the Color Run in 2013, with the event subsequently held every summer in Echternach until 2019. After several years of absence, the “happiest run in the world” returned in 2025 with a new sponsor, Baloise, and a new location near the P+R Stade de Luxembourg. The September edition brought together 2,436 participants of all ages for a five-kilometre route marked by colour zones and followed by a “Color Party”.

According to the organisers, The donation includes €4,872 in fixed contributions from registrations, as the organiser committed to donating €2 per participant, as well as €789 in spontaneous donations made by the participants themselves.

Sophie Glesener thanked the organisers, volunteers and participants for their support, saying: “We are delighted to receive this very generous donation for children and young people who need it so much. Thank you to everyone. And thank you for keeping such events alive, where sport joyfully goes hand in hand with sharing, solidarity, diversity and inclusion, in a world particularly wounded and troubled.”

Dr Christine Theodorovics stated: “At Baloise, we believe that performance only makes sense when it comes with a positive and human impact. I am proud to support an event like the Color Run, where energy, joy and solidarity come together to bring colour to the lives of those who need it most. This type of initiative perfectly illustrates our belief that together, we can combine well-being, engagement and social responsibility.”

Step by step also thanked participants for their contribution to this solidarity event.
