Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, has reported that it recently received 70 donated sleeping bags from A&O Shearman.
As winter approaches, with temperatures dropping and precariousness increasing, A&O Shearman has donated 70 sleeping bags to Stëmm vun der Strooss. These bags will be distributed at the "Saxophone" reception centre, located at 24 Rue de Hollerich in Luxembourg City, by Stëmm vun der Strooss' teams to people living on the street, who face increasingly cold nights.
The handover took place on Thursday 13 November 2025 in Luxembourg-Kirchberg in the presence of Valérie Furgala, Senior Legal PA to the Managing Partner at A&O Shearman, as well as Yamine Belgacem, Didier Cigale, Catherine Elvinger, Julie Hilat and Virginie Steuer.
Stëmm vun der Strooss explained that the "Saxophone" is a secure resting space for people living on the street. They can bring their companion animal and find, during the day, a place to sleep and recover.
For many years, the collaboration between A&O Shearman and Stëmm vun der Strooss has taken the form of regular and varied initiatives. The firm has donated sleeping bags, clothing and essential products on several occasions, funded gift cards, organised internal collections and supported various humanitarian projects of the non-profit organisation. A&O Shearman also provides its legal expertise to the association by offering free support when needed, which Stëmm vun der Strooss said is a valuable help for its daily management and administrative follow up. Volunteers from A&O Shearman will also be present at the traditional Christmas celebration, taking place this year at the Victor Hugo Cultural Centre, to lend a hand to the Stëmm vun der Strooss team and allow the most vulnerable people to enjoy a festive moment away from their daily struggles.
Stëmm vun der Strooss said this new initiative "confirms the continuity of a strong partnership based on solidarity, social commitment and support for people in severe difficulty".
