Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, has reported that POST Luxembourg recently donated a total of €14,140 to the charity.

POST Luxembourg's support in favour of the Stëmm vun der Strooss has now become a “tradition”, the non-profit organisation noted. Towards the end of each year, POST Luxembourg highlights its social commitment by offering its employees the opportunity to donate their end-of-year gift vouchers to a social organisation. In addition to the donations of employees' gift vouchers collected at the end of 2023, POST Philately has made a donation resulting from the profits of the sale of the "Gold Edition" crypto stamp.

Claude Strasser, managing director of POST Luxembourg, and Isabelle Faber, Director of Human Resources, Public Relations & CSR of POST Luxembourg, therefore presented two cheques to Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of the Stëmm vun der Strooss, at an official donation ceremony at POST Luxembourg's headquarters on Tuesday 5 March 2024.

Thanks to the donation of gift vouchers from POST employees, the cheque, worth a total of €4,140, will enable the Stëmm to organise numerous themed days, whether at Easter or Halloween. During these events, the Stëmm vun der Strooss benefits from the gift vouchers to finance the meals as well as to reward the winners of small organised games. In 2023, the vouchers were used to finance the material needed for these days.

A large part of the amount was also allocated to the Immo-Stëmm activity to accompany fifteen housed people on an overnight trip to Ostend, all as part of the service's 20th anniversary. "This project was very close to our hearts as it helped to strengthen the socio-educational relationships with the people we support," said Alexandra Oxacelay.

The amount of €10,000 of the second cheque from POST Luxembourg, which comes from the profits of the sale of the "Gold Edition" crypto-stamp, will finance part of the salaries of twelve people over 50 years of age who are employed in various workplaces of the Stëmm vun der Strooss for professional integration.
