Last Saturday 25 November 2023, after a five-year break due to the pandemic, the Luxembourg Red Cross Ball took place for the seventeenth time, once again under the high patronage of the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.

The charity evening held at the Luxexpo The Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg followed the theme "Welcome to the Jungle" and gathered more than 400 guests to participate in charitable projects. The exact amount of the proceeds will be announced once the cheque is handed over to the Luxembourg Red Cross at the beginning of 2024. According to the organisers, it already appears that the revenue will amount to more than €250,000.

Luxexpo The Box welcomed elegant guests to a rainforest with exotic flora, wildlife, a chorus of birds chirping, dripping water and occasional cries of large animals. The objective was once again to collect generous donations for the Red Cross, deemed particularly necessary in these times, with lots for a live and silent auction.

In total, 51 national and foreign companies (or subsidiaries, local businesses and restaurants, artists and creators, as well as private individuals) got involved by providing a quality lot each free of charge for the auction to the guests of the ball. As usual, a committee of volunteers organised the ball, with the support of numerous partners and sponsors. The evening was hosted by the members of the committee, the moderator Gabriel Boisanté and the master auctioneer Stéphane Aubert from Artcurial.

All profits from the evening will be donated to the Luxembourg Red Cross. The funds raised will be used to support the international emergency fund of the Luxembourg Red Cross, which will allow the organisation to intervene quickly in the event of natural disasters and emergencies as well as the holiday service (Service Vacances). The latter organises summer camps for children, and uses the budget to train instructors and to develop social volunteering.

The cheque should be delivered to the Luxembourg Red Cross in early 2024.

Traditionally, this fundraising evening for the Luxembourg Red Cross brings together a large number of generous donors from Luxembourg and other countries. Over the years, the ball has grown in popularity. This year's ball committee consisted of Nina Cliquet-Muller, Unda Dequaire-Rossler, Gauthier Destenay, Martine Gortan-Thill, Jette Kaiser, Laurent Martin Kirchmann, Benita Muller-Janietz, Anouk Schiltz and Geraldine Theisen-Becker.
