On Wednesday 3 November 2026, non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss, which supports the social and professional integration of disadvantaged people in Luxembourg, reported on the visit of the Mayor of Sanem to the organisation’s reintegration workshops in Sanem.

Stëmm vun der Strooss reported that as part of a courtesy visit, Simone Asselborn Bintz, Mayor of Sanem, accompanied by Cindy Reiners from the Housing and Real Estate Department, visited the professional reintegration workshops of the Stëmm vun der Strooss association, located in the "um Woeller" industrial zone in Sanem.

Stëmm vun der Strooss said the meeting provided an opportunity for the 40 beneficiaries of a community work measure (TUC) at Schweessdreps and the 50 people at Caddy to highlight the impact and importance of their daily work.

During the visit, Jessica Hames, drawing on her six years of experience at Schweessdreps, detailed the processing cycle of the 4,000 uniforms, t-shirts, and socks washed each week for 45 local football clubs.

Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, recalled Caddy's dual mission: "The work carried out at Caddy not only helps fight food waste, but it also combats poverty and unemployment." She emphasized that: "currently, our social workers support 250 people across the sites in Esch-sur-Alzette, Hollerich, Ettelbruck and Schoenfels."

Additionally, Giovanni Ferigo and Joanne Buschette, board members of the association, warmly thanked the municipality of Sanem for providing the land and for its continuous support over the past three years. Impressed by the success of these workshops, Mayor Simone Asselborn Bintz concluded by encouraging the replication of this model: "Other municipalities should take inspiration from this to develop similar initiatives in their own communities."
