SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde has announced its third Giving Tuesday campaign, which will take place on 28 November 2023; this global event raises awareness of solidarity and commitment to charitable causes and the global work of non-profit organisations.

In 2023, 28 November will mark Giving Tuesday, a day of celebration and advocacy. SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde will be present at the Cloche d’Or shopping centre to promote its campaign in support of the “most vulnerable children in the world”. The association's primary goal is to assist children without family care, with a special focus on girls, who are experiencing crises or have been deprived of their rights.

For the third consecutive year, SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde is collaborating with Giving Tuesday, a global event that the Luxembourg NGO joined in 2021. The partnership aims to raise awareness of its work and unite people worldwide in a solidarity campaign to support vulnerable children across the globe.

Giving Tuesday, a day of global generosity, originated in the United States ten years ago in response to Black Friday, a day known for attracting consumers with significant discounts. Four days after Black Friday, Giving Tuesday is dedicated to mobilising support for charitable donations and commitment to others. This movement garners international participation from companies, organisations and individuals worldwide, and it is supported by social media messages featuring the hashtag #GivingTuesday.

Since 2021, SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde has raised more than €17,000 to support children affected by major crises, particularly in Madagascar and Colombia. The NGO hopes to secure solidarity again this year as wars and crises continue to impact children in need of protection and care.

SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde is currently involved in development programmes in West Africa and Uzbekistan, as well as emergency aid and resilience-building initiatives in countries such as Colombia, Ethiopia, Madagascar, the Central African Republic and Ukraine. These projects focus on empowering communities to care for children and protect their rights, providing aid to displaced or refugee families, reuniting families, offering psychosocial support, education, promoting the employability of young people and providing health, nutrition and livelihood support.

The non-profit welcomes any donations, fundraisers and creative messages with the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #NoChildAlone, tagging @sosvemlux, as part of this campaign.
