Europa Donna Luxembourg has confirmed that about 2,200 people took part in the 21st "Broschtkriibslaf" (race against breast cancer) on Saturday 7 October 2023.
The Broschtkriibslaf 2023 kicked off in Hesper Park in Hesperange on Saturday morning. Among the participants were several last-minute registrations, bringing the number to about 2,200.
The organisers described the atmosphere as "joyous" and "cheerful", as runners (mostly dressed in pink) embarked on this solidarity race through the park. Many of them were accompanied by their children or dogs.
More than 40 groups from various sectors took part in the race, with the top three winning a trophy: Hôpitaux Robert Schuman, Zumba Frisange and Atert-Lycée Redange.
The event was another opportunity for Europa Donna Luxembourg and the associations present to raise public awareness of the importance of physical activity in preventing breast cancer and at the same time to raise funds to support those affected and their families.
