Together with the Comité National de Défense Sociale (CNDS), the Nordstrooss Shopping Mile in Marnach recently organised a fundraiser for the "Services de l'Entraide" project, which it is now expanding to support people fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Initially planned as a collection of clothes for the CNDS "Kleederstuff" second-hand clothes project in Troisvierges, the organisers decided in the short term to expand the collection of donations to include foodstufss and hygiene articles, in addition to clothes.

Due to the conflict in Ukraine, the need for humanitarian aid in the country, but also in neighbouring countries where people are fleeing the war, is growing. The goal is "to collect humanitarian donations and send them to the people who need them most", explained André Haler, Manager of Services de l'Entraide.

The sorting of donations is done directly on site at the stand in Marnach and the goods collected will be transported at the end of the action by lorry to Poland. A large part of the clothes collected will be given directly to the CNDS, as initially planned.

The organisers managed to organise the transportation at short notice by a group of volunteers, in cooperation with the municipality of Troisvierges, which is twinned with the Polish town of Strzyżów, and will be transported on Monday 14 March 2022 to the border region between Poland and Ukraine .

Necessary items include: dry and non-perishable foodstuffs; hygiene items; items that protect against the cold; clothes and shoes.
