Camille Fohl has been announced today as the new chairman of the Board of Directors of the Banque et caisse d'épargne de l'État, Luxembourg (BCEE), otherwise known as Spuerkees,
On the proposal of Finance Minister Pierre Gramegna and following the agreement of the European Central Bank, the council made the decision on 1 September 2017 to appoint Camille Fohl as a member of the Board of Directors of the BCEE, as well as his appointment as Chairman for a five-year term.
Consequently, Camille Fohl will succeed Victor Rod on 25 October 2017. In recognition of his merits, the council also decided to appoint Victor Rod Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors of BCEE, of which he has been a member since 1989.
Born in Luxembourg in 1956, Camille Fohl has a Master's degree in Applied Economics from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve. After six years at Lux-Development, in 1986 he joined the Banque Générale du Luxembourg, where he became a member of the Executive Committee in 2000. Since then, he has held various executive positions within Fortis and BNP Paribas. Between 2013 and March 2017, he was responsible for the BNP Paribas Group in Germany.
