On Tuesday 14 April 2026, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) reported that it has been named “Exchange of the Year” at Environmental Finance’s Sustainable Debt Awards 2026, marking the eighth time it has received this recognition.

According to Environmental Finance, the award recognised the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and its sustainable finance platform, the Luxembourg Green Exchange, for new initiatives introduced in 2025, including the Transition Finance Gateway and the EU Taxonomy Issuers Window, alongside continued developments in its education and data platforms, the LGX Academy and LGX DataHub.

The awards recognise achievements and innovation in sustainable finance.

In 2025, LuxSE and LGX welcomed 601 new sustainable bonds, raising a total of €233 billion for sustainable development worldwide. The exchange also expanded its focus beyond individual securities to highlight issuer-level climate transition data and EU Taxonomy alignment.

“2025 was an important year for our Exchange, marking how we stepped up our commitment to facilitating a more low-carbon and inclusive world, and it is an honour to have our efforts recognised by Environmental Finance,” said Laetitia Hamon, who is set to assume the role of Chief Operating Officer of LuxSE from Friday 1 May 2026.

In July 2025, LuxSE launched the Transition Finance Gateway, aimed at supporting issuers in their transition journey and increasing transparency for investors, notably by highlighting the transition efforts of more than 500 non-financial corporate debt issuers.

Later, in November 2025, the exchange introduced the EU Taxonomy Issuers Window on the LGX platform, described as the first initiative by a European exchange dedicated exclusively to issuers with significant alignment with the EU Taxonomy.

LuxSE also continued to develop its education and data initiatives in 2025, with both the LGX Academy and LGX DataHub marking their fifth anniversaries. Through the LGX Academy, experts delivered training in nine countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America to support sustainable finance development.

The LGX DataHub, the exchange’s centralised sustainable bond database, expanded to include up to 200 data points on more than 23,000 sustainable bonds listed worldwide and supported research on the global sustainable bond market, including studies on sustainability-linked and gender-focused bonds.
