Launched in February, the Grand Final of the Luxembourg FinTech Awards are being held at the premises of KPMG Luxembourg (39 avenue J.F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg-Kirchberg) on Tuesday 21 June 2016 from 17:30 - at the KPMG Plage, surrounded by sand, fun and sun.

With three prizes on offer and ten companies competing, the event promises to be competitive!

In February, KPMG Luxembourg Managing Partner, Georges Bock, explained that the Luxembourg FinTech Awards they initiated with the government and other players has been to encourage entrpreneurs and help established companies to be open to new ideas. There were 2 steps involved: a call for candidates, then a section for a semi-final for May, with the final to take place during the KPMG Plage event in the summer (21 June). The events involves 3 categories:

- the best Luxembourg FinTech company of the year: €50,000 in startup money and hosting at the Technoport, free of charge, for four months;

- the Best FinTech Entrepreneur: Be immersed in the ultimate entrepreneurial experience by spending a week in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley where you will meet top companies, accelerators and investors; and

- the Best Pitch: Receive a one-year KPMG Hub for Entrepreneurship membership and a media campaign to boost your company’s profile.

The jury is composed of prominent entrepreneurs, investors, and other personalities, all committed to helping firms take off in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, will open the event and Finance Minister, Pierre Gramegna, will present the award winners with their prizes.
