On Tuesday 10 February 2026, the Maison du Grand-Duc announced details of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg's upcoming visits - the "Joyeuses Entrées" - to different regions of the country.
In his Christmas Eve address, Grand Duke Guillaume announced the organisation of five "Joyeuses Entrées" across the Grand Duchy, aimed at continuing his direct encounters with the population, in keeping with the spirit of the "Trounwiessel" (throne change) and the "Feierlech Tournée" of 3 to 4 October 2025.
Joyeuses Entrées 2026-2027
Traditionally associated with a new dynastic stage, the "Joyeuses Entrées" are occasions for meetings, exchanges and closeness between the Grand Ducal Couple and the people of Luxembourg, in the presence of local authorities and key figures in the country.
In 2026, the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess will visit the following municipalities:
- Esch-sur-Alzette on Friday 24 April;
- Troisvierges on Friday 10 July;
- Wormeldange on Friday 2 October.
The series of visits will continue in 2027, when the Grand Ducal Couple will visit the municipalities of Beckerich and Mersch (dates to be confirmed).
The visited towns and municipalities coordinate the activities and may partner with local and neighbouring entities to give each event a regional dimension.
Detailed visit programmes will be communicated once finalised.
National Day Eve Visits
Every year, on the eve of Luxembourg's National Day (23 June), the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess visit a different city in the country to join in the celebrations with the population.
The next two visits have been scheduled as follows:
- Differdange on Monday 22 June 2026;
- Ettelbruck on Tuesday 22 June 2027.
These annual National Day Eve visits are organised on a rotating basis among the municipalities and regions of the country.
The Maison du Grand-Duc emphasised that the National Day celebrations remain faithful to tradition, with key events in Luxembourg City on the evening of 22 June, followed by the official ceremonies on National Day, 23 June.
