The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they arrested two individuals for public nuisance during separate incidents on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 May 2024.
The police noted that the individuals were disturbing public order and posing a danger to themselves and others in their intoxicated state.
On Wednesday evening, a presumably intoxicated person was reported to be sleeping in front of a front door on Rue des Pommiers in Remich. A police patrol found the woman at a nearby bus stop shortly after. Police said she was barely responsive and was staggering around. She also reportedly behaved increasingly aggressively towards the police officers. She was taken into custody after a medical examination.
In the early hours of Thursday, a "heavily" intoxicated person was reported to be uncooperative with staff in the emergency room of a hospital in Esch-sur-Alzette. The man was placed in custody ("transit" detention) due to his condition and the fact that he was disturbing public order and posing a danger to himself and others, noted the police.
