The Commissioner for Budget and Administration, Johannes Hahn, has recently inaugurated the Commission's new "Mercier-POST" building in Luxembourg in the company of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri, the Luxembourg Ministers of Justice and of Digitalisation, ambassadors from EU Member States and representatives from academia.

The building will be the new headquarters of the EU Publications Office and part of the staff of the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG Connect) the European Commission noted.

The EU Publications Office is the official publication service provider to all EU institutions, bodies and agencies, while DG CONNECT develops and implements Commission policies relating to the digital economy and society, as well as research and innovation. These two services contribute to the European Commission's strategy for a “Europe fit for the digital age”.

The building was previously occupied by the Luxembourg POST, and it will be the first complete building in Luxembourg with only dynamic collaborative workspaces. With 15,000 m2 of offices and 670 workstations, the building will serve as an innovation hub and aims to have an “excellent” sustainable, energy and environmental performance.
