On Thursday 18 June 2026, Luxair announced expected operational disruptions on Saturday 20, Tuesday 23, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June, and Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July 2026 due to planned industrial action at Barcelona Airport.

According to Luxair, the strike action has been announced by passenger boarding bridge operators and the Visual Docking Guidance System provider at Barcelona Airport and is expected to affect overall airport operations.

The airline said it is closely monitoring the situation and taking all possible steps to minimise disruption and maintain the smoothest service possible. Based on current planning, Luxair flights to and from Barcelona are expected to operate, although delays may occur.

Luxair said it will communicate any changes directly to affected Luxair and Luxairtours customers using the contact details provided in their booking. Passengers travelling to or from Barcelona on these dates are strongly advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure, as longer waiting times may occur.

Luxair stated it will provide an update as further information becomes available and apologised for the inconvenience and thanked passengers for their understanding, assuring them of its commitment to providing the best possible service and minimising the impact of external disruptions.
