The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a 79-year-old motorist died following a traffic accident in the late afternoon on Thursday 21 March 2024.
According to the police, the accident happened shortly shortly after 15:00 on Thursday, on the CR144 between Ehnen and Lenningen.
It is understood that the driver left the road for an unknown reason and collided with a tree on the edge of the carriageway. First responders at the scene helped the driver out of the car, which caught fire a short time later. After receiving initial emergency medical treatment, the injured man, a 79-year-old man from the east of the country, was taken to hospital where he died in the late afternoon.
The public prosecutor's office commissioned a forensics investigation of the accident scene.
