The Grand Ducal Police have announced that the front tyres of a van, parked in the grounds of the swimming pool at Remich, were set alight.

The incident was reported by a woman at around 19:40; when the emergency services arrives, they determined that the vehicle had been abandoned and the car parked beside it had also been affected by the fire.

Two hours later, a second incident was reported, involving a vehicle parked on the Rue de l'église in Bech-Kleinmacher. In this case, nobody was injured, but adjacent vehicles were also damaged.

As arson could not be ruled out, the police contacted the public prosecutor who ordered forensics investigations to be undertaken by investigators from the fire brigade.

As a result, the police have called for witnesses who may have observed people or vehicles in the promimity of either incident to contact them attel: 24477-1000.
