Minister of the Interior Pays a Visit to the Emergency Services

Luxembourg Minister of the Interior Dan Kersch travelled to the field on Thursday to meet with some of the country’s rescue teams.

In an attempt to inform the population along with volunteers and professionals on the progress of the recent reform, Minister Dan Kersh visited certain teams in their respective intervention centres and take the time to exchange with them.

This first day on the field brought the Minister and a delegation from the Ministry of the Interior and the Administration of Relief Services to the National Support Base where he met with the Emergency Preparedness Panels posted in Lintgen.

The Minister of the Interior subsequently conversed with the volunteer teams of the Mersch barracks and then Tuntange in order to discover their daily lives and expectations and to inform them of the progress of the reform of the rescue services.

Another round of visits is scheduled for today on 4 August 2017 at the Berdorf and Schengen Fire and Rescue Centres, with exercises from the Group for Recognition and Intervention in Perilous Environments (GRIMP) or the Canine Group.
