Tomorrow marks the 31st birthday of the third child of HRH Grand Duke Henri and HRH Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Prince Louis, who was born on 3 August 1986 at the Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg city.
After attending primary school in Lorentzweiler, Prince Louis went on to study at the American School of Luxembourg (now the ISL) before continuing his secondary education at the Collège Beau Soleil in Switzerland, graduating in June 2005. When in Switzerland he developed an interest in social and humanitarian work and has taken part in missions to Mumbai in India. He then undertook a one-year traineeship at the headquarters of the Red Cross in Geneva and spent two years in the USA where he underwent training in "Aeronautics and Aeronautical Management" and gained his "Private pilot certificate".
Following this, Prince Louis moved to England to attend university at Richmond, the American International University in London, where he graduated in May 2014 with a BA in Art in Communications, having written his undergraduate dissertation on humanitarian advertisement. Prince Louis currently works in the field of social corporate responsibilities.
The prince has two sons with former wife Tessy Antony, Prince Gabriel Michael Louis Ronny, born in Geneva on 12 March 2006, and Prince Noah Etienne Guillaume Gabriel Matthias Xavier, born in Luxembourg on 21 September 2007.
Dedicated to upholding certain values, such as those promoted through sport, Prince Louis accepted the High Patronage of the Fédération luxembourgeoise de Tennis de Table (Luxembourg Table Tennis Federation) (2004), the Fédération des Arts Martiaux (Luxembourg Martial Arts Federation) (2010) and theFédération Aéronautique Luxembourgeoise (Luxembourg Aeronautical Federation) (2011).
Prince Louis is a keen fan of numerous sports, most of which he also practices avidly. He has a passion for mountain sports, as well as cycling, hunting and scuba diving.
