
On Thursday 22 June and Friday 23 June 2017, Luxembourg's Grand Ducal family will help celebrate the country's national day events in Luxembourg city, Esch-sur-Alzette and Bettebmourg.
Thursday 22 June:
- Changing of the guard in front of the Grand-Ducal Palace @ 16:00
The festivities of the national holiday will begin on 22 June in front of the Grand Ducal Palace with the changing of the guard, in which an army detachment of honour, under the command of Captain Mike Lamesch, will participate.
The musical programme will be provided by Military Music, under the direction of Major Jean-Claude Braun, Head of Military Music at Luxemourg's army.

The Grand-Ducal couple will visit Bettembourg this year.
In late Thursday afternoon, The Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess will be welcomed by the Minister of the Interior, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Dan Kersch, and Deputy Mayor of the municipality of Bettembourg, Laurent Zeimet. After the official reception and presentation of the municipal authorities, honours will be handed over by the Grand Duke. The Grand ducal couple will then visit the Maggy Stein Art Gallery at the Chateau de Bettembourg for a visit to the exhibition "Beetebuerg erliewen".
After visiting the Fête de l’amitié on Nelson Mandela Square, the Grand-Ducal couple will have the opportunity to meet the pulic and members of the associations.

The Hereditary Grand-Ducal couple will visit the Théâtre Municipal and the Place de la Résistance prior to a reception at the Hôtel de Ville.

The Grand-Ducal couple and the Hereditary Grand-Ducal couple will view the torch-lit parade and will watch the fireworks from the balcony overlookig the Pont dolphe
Friday 23 June:
- Philharmonie @ 10:00 for the official ceremony and concert
The Grand-Ducal couple and the Hereditary Grand-Ducal couple will attend the concert with members of the government and other dignataries (before the 21-canon salute from Fetschenhaff) efore other official engagements
- Avenue de la Liberté @ 11:00 for the official parade
- Cathédrale Notre-Dame @ 16:30 for the Te Deum
- Grand-Ducal palace for a reception for members of the government, etc.
