Luxembourg's Ministry of State and the High Commission of National Protection have issued what they describe as a final press release following the devastating floods that affected part of the east of the country on Friday 22 July 2016.

Following receipt of the results of analysis of water samples taken from the water supplies of towns affected, in particular the Medernach network, they have confirmed that human consumption of tap water in Medernach, Savelborn and Freckeisen - i.e. the Ernz valley - is now completely safe, as it has been in the municipalities of Reisdorf, Nommern and Larochette.

The distribution of bottled water in these areas has now stopped.
