On Thursday afternoon, an elderly man died following a road traffic accident in Kirchberg.
The accident happened shortly after 16:00 on the avenue J.F. Kennedy. The motorist was driving east towards the motorway and was near the Auchan shopping centre when his car first hit a couple of parked cars before veering across the road and hit a roadside tree, crossed a traffic island and collided with an oncoming bus.
The 90 year-old motorist suffered serious injuries in the accident and was attended by medical staff at the scene. He was brought to hospital by ambulance where he later died. No injuries were reported among the occupants of the bus.
