The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a hand grenade from the Second World War was discovered in Kayl late afternoon on Sunday 28 February.
While no details were given on the circumstances surrounding the discovery - most such finds are made when excavators are used to dig trenches or foundations for construction projects, but this was a Sunday - the Luxembourg army were called and its bomb disposal squad disposed of the grenade while a security perimiter was established.
