On Monday afternoon a terrible accident happened at Schieren when a man was killed by a train.

The accident happened shortly before 15:30 at the train station in Schieren. A 51 year-old resident of Echternach was hit by the train travelling from Ettelbrück to Luxembourg city.

The emergency services were called and declared the man dead at the scene of the accident.
