The Grand Ducal Police reported several arrests following altercations in Luxembourg City on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 September 2026.

In the early evening of Wednesday, an altercation took place between two intoxicated men outside a venue on Rue Joseph Junck. According to initial information, one of the men pulled out a knife during the dispute in an attempt to intimidate the other. The second man grabbed the blade and sustained a cut to his hand. Police officers separated the two men and seized the knife. The injured person declined further medical treatment at a hospital.

As one of the men subsequently failed to calm down and, due to his alcohol consumption, posed a danger to himself and others, he was temporarily placed under arrest. A small quantity of hashish was also found during a search.

Later, at around 22:10, police officers noticed another physical altercation between two men near the junction of Rue d’Épernay and Rue de Reims in the Gare district. Officers separated those involved, but one of the men remained uncooperative and insulted and threatened the police. He was subsequently temporarily placed under arrest.

During the night leading into Thursday 10 September 2026, police were informed of an altercation outside a venue at the Schueberfouer. According to initial information, a man had threatened and shouted at two women. When security staff intervened, the suspect injured a security staff member in the face with a bottle.

When police officers arrived, the man remained uncooperative, resisted the officers and was visibly under the influence of alcohol. As he posed a danger to others and disturbed the peace, he was temporarily placed under arrest.
