On 23 July 2015, more than 100 children from children's homes around the country will take part in the 'DigiRallye', an initiative designed to promote the safe use of information and communication technology by young people.
The DigiRallye will start from the Geesseknäppchen Forum at 09:30 and will lead the 100 participants on a course around the capital, stopping at over ten different stations. The event was organised by BEE SECURE as a way of creating online safety for children, and at each station participants will test their knowledge on internet safety and new technologies.
The DigiRallye was reportedly fully booked within a few days, and was established in conjunction with the BEE CREATIVE project, which will aim from autumn 2015 to promote creative media skills in children and young people.
BEE SECURE represents a government initiative, created through the Digital (4) Education strategy of the Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Youth, and recently initiated a research study at the University of Luxembourg to examine the nature and intensity of Internet usage by young people.
