According to the LCGB-Retirees Commitee, an increase in prices has been announced for autumn 2015 by the nursing home board for several institutions around the Grand Duchy.
Residents at the Pescatore Foundation, Foyer Sainte Elisabeth in Berbourg and 'An de Wisen' in Bettembourg will all be affected by the price change. LCGB claimed that these three reports exhibit a general negative trend in the care sector, with elderly residents forced to pay a substantially higher pension price each month which their limited income source will struggle to maintain.
LCGB have stated that increases are an ongoing issue in the care sector due to government budgetary regulations which freeze monetary value and decrease activities in benefit grants due to a more restrictive Evaluation and Orientation unit for such applications.
An analysis of the financial situation of the care sector is scheduled for next week, and is hoped to solve the financial insecurity of care recipients.
