At eight o'clock yesterday morning, one man was killed in a traffic accident on the route between Niederfeulen and Mertzig.
The young driver, who was in his mid-twenties and from the Holtz area, was reported to have swerved and lost control of his vehicle. The car then skidded and spun around on its axis, crashing into a tree and trapping the driver.
On site were the volunteer Fire Department from Mertzig, Le Service d'Aide Médicale Urgente (SAMU) from Ettelbrück, and Services d'Incendie et de Sauvetage. However, emergency services were incapable of resuscitating the driver, who died from his injuries at the scene. No other people are said to have been injured.
