The Biennale of Contemporary Art of Strassen opened the doors of its 10th edition at the Paul Barblé cultural centre on Friday 3 May 2019.
Since 2001, this flagship event on the Luxembourg art scene has contributed to Strassen's cultural influence, fostered encounters and dialogue between artists and the public and reflected aspects of contemporary artistic creation in Luxembourg.
The winners of this year's edition were: Claudine Maillet – first prize; Dani Neumann – special jury prize; Julie Majerus – award of recognition ("Prix d'encouragement").
The exhibition, running from 3 to 14 May, presents some fifty paintings, photographs, sculptures and drawings by 23 artists, carefully selected by a jury of experts and respected personalities from the world of art in Luxembourg. The exhibition is open on these days between 13:30 and 18:30.
Guided tours are scheduled for Tuesday 7 May at 14:30 and 16:00 and Sunday 12 May at 14:30 and 16:00.
