Monday marked the launch of the national "Lëtz' Step to Fairtrade" awareness campaign, running throughout Luxembourg until 19 May 2019.

For the seventh consecutive year, the NGO Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg has organised its "Lëtz' Step to Fairtrade" awareness and mobilisation campaign around fair trade in Luxembourg. For this edition, various events are once again organised across the country to put fairtrade products and the theme of fair trade in the spotlight.

From 6 to 19 May, various municipalities, schools, nurseries, businesses, associations and fair trade activists in the Grand Duchy are committing themselves to creating a world based on values of social justice and respect for the environment.

At the launch of the campaign, participants already registered more than 110 activities and events as part of the campaign. These include shared meals, brunched, tasting of fair trade products, exhibitions, conference-debates, film screenings and meetings with players in the world of Fair Trade. These initiatives aim to help citizens and consumers to question the concrete impacts of their consumption and to think about the role that everyone can play to achieve a responsible, fairer and more respectful consumption.

One of the upcoming events, organised by Faritrade Lëtzebuerg is the #FAIRFRIDAY challenge on 17 May 2019. The objective of this national challenge is to gather, in the space of one day, 1,000 selfies of men and women who are the faces of the fair transition in Luxembourg. Participants should take a photo of themselves at a "Lëtz' Step to Fairtrade" event, with a Fairtrade product and showing their commitment. Participants should then share their photo on 17 May on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook or send it via email: fairfriday@fairtrade.lu.

Anyone still wishing to participate can organise and register an activity on the theme of Fairtrade or Fair Trade products and invite others to join the campaign. To register, visit inscription.letzsteptofairtrade.lu.
