Laura Thorn, who won the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC) in January 2025, has now released the “Eurovision version” of her winning song: “La Poupée monte le son”.

On 20 March 1965, France Gall won the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) for Luxembourg with the song “Poupée de Cire, Poupée de Son”. 60 years on, Luxembourg’s 2025 Eurovision contestant, Laura Thorn, will perform "La Poupée monte le son" in Basel, Switzerland in May.

In a press release, RTL reported that France Gall and Serge Gainsbourg’s 1965 win remains a milestone in ESC history. The song subsequently inspired French authors, Julien Salvia and Ludovic-Alexandre Vidal, to ask: "What would the Poupée (the Doll) say in 2025?"

"La Poupée" echoes a new generation of women determined to make their voices heard, as is embodied by 25-year-old Laura Thorn, who balances her job as a teacher at the Conservatoire d'Esch-sur-Alzette with preparation for her performance on the Eurovision stage in Basel. From Tuesday to Saturday, Laura prioritises work, but her free time is now dedicated to her upcoming Eurovision appearance, the Luxembourg organisers explained.

The press release added that the show, which expects 160 million viewers, must be meticulously prepared and the performance carefully thought out and discussed in detail. The choreography had to be adapted to the stage in Basel - numerous rehearsals with the choreographer, the singer and the five dancers are organised at regular intervals. Individual singing and dancing lessons complete the programme.

The "Eurovision version" of the song is now available online and is expected to be promoted among the 37 Eurovision participants, in order to convince the public to vote in the semi-final on Thursday 15 May, so that “Poupée” will reach the final on Saturday 17 May 2025. Laura is performing concerts abroad, including in Amsterdam, London and Madrid to promote the Grand Duchy on the international Eurovision stage. She has also participated in interviews with national and international media.

Moreover, Laura Thorn is due to perform at Télévie and at the Eurovision Previews event in Bissen, Luxembourg, where proceeds will be donated to LUkraine asbl.
