Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy and Luxinnovation have announced that the Grand Duchy will participate for the first time with a national pavilion in Collision, a renowned international tech conference, which will be held in Toronto, Canada from 21 to 23 June 2022.

The presence of Luxembourg startups at this conference forms part of the official economic mission to Canada organised by Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy and the Chamber of Commerce from 20 to 24 June 2022.

A call for applications has been launched with the aim of allowing eight startups, against a contribution to the costs of €1,000 per company, to exhibit their products or services on the Luxembourg pavilion, organised in collaboration with Startup Luxembourg and Luxinnovation. Applications are open until 17 April 2022 and the procedures for the call for applications and participation are available on the Startup Luxembourg website: https://www.startupluxembourg.com/collision-2022-national-pavillion?hsCtaTracking=4a2f835b-3fc5-49cc-8656-d6adda5ad86d%7c85d1e13b-6f40-489d-aa7f-1927af219975.

Collision is one of the largest startup events in North America. Every year, it brings together more than 1,250 startups, 1,200 journalists, 33,000 visitors and 850 investors from nearly 140 countries. It aims to attract Canadians and Americans, on the one hand, and European ecosystems, on the other. It is positioned as an international conference where startup stands and national pavilions rub shoulders with stages on which internationally renowned experts discuss topics relating to new technologies.

Within the Luxembourg national pavilion, in the colours of Startup Luxembourg, eight spaces will be reserved for startups, which will thus be able to present themselves to an international audience. In addition to this visibility, the young innovative companies selected will have the opportunity to apply for the "Startup ALPHA" programme offered by Collision and which highlights high-potential startups in the startup phase. This offer is also aimed at startups which will not be represented on the national pavilion and which are nevertheless interested in participating in the event.

"The 'Collision' show is an excellent opportunity to showcase the dynamism of our national startup ecosystem", commented Franz Fayot, Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy. "With its location at the heart of Europe, Luxembourg is a prime destination for young innovative companies wishing to extend their activities to the European market. The Luxembourg startups selected will benefit for their part from increased visibility on the Canadian and North American markets".

The list of startups selected at the end of the selection process will be made public on 21 April 2022.
