Luxembourg has banned the export of live animals to Turkey during the months of July, August and September 2019.

In the interest of animal welfare during the summer period following long waiting times for the transportation of animals on the EU border with Turkey, Luxembourg Minister of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development, Romain Schneider, has taken the decision to ban live animal exports from Luxembourg to Turkey between July and September.

During this period, the Veterinary Services Administration will not issue any certificates for the transport of animals to Turkey.
