David Bostock, who had served as British Member at the European Court of Auditors until the end of 2013, has passed away.
David received an honour in 2015 (Knight Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. George) "for services to public administration and accountability". He has previously been awarded a CMG, a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George. He had served as the UK’s Member of the Court for 12 years up to December 2013. He succeeded John wiggins who served in the position for 9 years and the current incumbent of the position is Phil Wynn Owen. David Bostock had served in a number of posts in the Treasury, the Cabinet Office and the Office of the UK Permanent Representative to the EU in Brussels. He was still involved in the Esch choir after he left.
He and his wife Beth Ann sang in Luxembourgish choirs including in Esch-sur-Alzette, most recently visiting Luxembourg in July, and she was a volunteer prison visitor for English-speaking prisoners. After leaving Luxembourg, David followed studies in the UK as a mature student.
His funeral will take place at Mortlake Crematorium in Richmond (UK) on Monday 19 September.
