The ministerial meeting of the Visegard Group (V4) was held today in Prague, at which Luxembourg Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Jean Asselborn was present at the invitation of his Czech counterpart, Lubomir Zaoralek.

The meeting was convened by the Czech Presidency of the V4 Group, which assembles the countries of the Central European Region to collaborate in fields of common interest with a view to all-European integration. Minister Asselborn was joined by the ministers of Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Talks focused on the migration crisis in Europe, which is a particular topic of discussion due to the Justice and Home Affairs Council which has been organised under the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the EU for 14 September 2015.

The exchange of views focused in particular on the proposals package of the European Commission presented on Wednesday 9 September 2015, with a view to the concerns of the partners of Central Europe.
