On 10 September 2015, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs for Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, will be in the Ukrainian capital Kiev to participate in the 12th edition of the annual 'Yalta European Strategy' (YES) conference.

YES was first established in 2004 by Victor Pinchuk, and today represents the leading public diplomacy platform to develop strategies for Ukraine and wider Europe and promote Ukraine's integration into Europe.

The Annual Meetings provide an opportunity for European, Ukrainian, US and Russian Federation leaders  and heads of state and government to engage in open dialogue and focus on the challenges and opportunities presented to Ukraine. The 2015 edition will discuss 'At Risk: How New Ukraine's Fate Affects Europe and the World'.

At the conference, Minister Asselborn will address the situation in Crimea and eastern Ukraine, whilst discussing the political, economic and social concerns of the country as a whole, including the reform process initiated by the Ukrainian government. The Minister will also give an overview of the action and means that the EU puts into place to support Ukraine in its efforts.

Minister Asselborn will also use the opportunity to conduct meetings with the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko and the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pavlo Klimkin, on the sidelines of the conference.
