Luxembourg’s Ministry of Health has advised consumers of the recall of Auchan’s “Ocean Salad” product due to food safety concerns.

The product, which has been sold in Auchan stores across the Grand Duchy, has been found to be contaminated by Listeria monocytogenes. Possible signs of food poisoning caused by listeria include fever and/or headache, which can become visible up to eight weeks after consumption of the contaminated salad. Listeriosis is a very serious illness for those affected. Moreover, pregnant women, immunosuppressed people and the elderly should be particularly careful regarding these symptoms.

The Ministry of Health advises anyone who has consumed this product and experiences this type of symptoms to let their doctor know as soon as possible.

The concerned item is no longer on sale, but some of the salads have already been sold.

The item in question is Auchan’s “Salade Océane 230g” produced in Les crudettes, Châteauneuf sur Loire, France. The expiry dates listed range from 21 July 2016 to 10 October 2016.
