Luxembourg’s New World Theatre Company (NWTC) together with Pirate Productions will present two one-act plays, Escurial and Too Darn Hot!, at the Centre Culturel Hollerich (34 Rue Emile Lavendier) on Thursday 22, Friday 23 and Saturday 24 May 2025 at 19:30 and on Sunday 25 May at 15:00.
NWTC’s short play, Escurial, is written by Michel de Ghelderode and directed by John Brigg. It tells the story of a king and his dying queen. The king summons his fool to embark on “a daring game of bluff and counterbluff” to get to “the gritty heart of why authoritarian men ultimately lose out”.
Pirate Productions' Too Darn Hot! will also feature on the night. For details, see: https://chronicle.lu/event/13040-too-darn-hot-show
Both plays have been accepted as official entrants to the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS) 2025 which will take place in Hamburg, Germany, from Friday 6 to Monday 9 June 2025.
Tickets for the double bill will be available from Tuesday 1 April 2025 via pirates.lu or nwtc.lu.
