The 84th Škoda Tour de Luxembourg cycling race is taking place from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 September 2024, with some of the world’s best teams and riders once again offering fans an exciting spectacle on the roads of Luxembourg.
The five-stage event will cover a total distance of 705.1 km. The race will start on Rue du Fossé in Luxembourg-Ville on Wednesday. The 114 riders will follow a first stage (156.4 km) through the Grand Duchy and cross the finish line at the end of the day at Marché-aux-Poissons, back in Luxembourg-Ville.
Stage 2 (155 km), on Thursday, will take riders from Junglinster to Schifflange via the Mullerthal region.
Stage 3 (201.3 km), on Friday, starts along the Sûre river in Rosport before heading north and finishing in Diekirch.
Stage 4 (15.5 km) will take riders around Differdange on Saturday, as part of the individual time trial (ITT).
The race ends with Stage 5 (176.9 km) on Sunday, with riders departing Mersch and heading back towards the capital. The finish line is in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg, near the Victor Hugo hall.
Since Andy Schleck, winner of the 2010 Tour de France, and his team took over the presidency of the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg in 2017, the race has been growing rapidly. For the past four years, it has been part of the UCI ProSeries, the second highest league in international cycling.
